The new Verona Inn opened in beautiful new quarters this past May with a whole new attitude. As owner John MacEvoy “This is not your grandparent’s Verona Inn.” And it is no doubt not my kids Verona Inn either, since the only people who I knew who went to the old bar were much younger than me.
I was always curious about the old "VI" that sat off Bloomfield Ave since 1947. But never went, never felt like I'd fit in. I did feel very welcome here.
There are 29 Taps, interesting selection, lots of main stream stuff, many chocolate stouts, Belgian styles, pale ales, lagers, some regional brewers. Surprisingly no IPA's today. It would be great if the used BeerMenus.com.The beer menu on the website is not kept current. I like to know whats on tap.
I did really enjoy a Goose Island Ale, Night Stalker and Imperial Stout and Leffe Brune, a Belgian Dark Ale.
The food menu is diverse, many interesting burgers, fish tacos, a ruben sandwich, something for everyone.
You can sit at or by the bar or in one of the comfortable looking dining areas.
Loved the staff, all very friendly and attentive. I'll say nothing about the pretty bartenders. Stay out of trouble that way.
