Local Star Chefs Kick off Inaugural Montclair Fall Food Classic to Benefit The Salvation Army October 26, 2012

We enjoy such an abundance of great food and luxuries here in Montclair, and we often have an opportunity to give back. Here is a great one that my friend Lisa Davies who writes the great food blog thislittlepiggywenttothefarmersmarket.com just told me about.

As part of the nationwide Food Day celebration, Friday October 26th will mark the inaugural Montclair Fall Food Classic to benefit The Salvation Army hot meal program at the Citadel in Montclair. Two of our favorite chefs, Chefs Robert Pantusa, Osteria Giotto, and Francesco Palmieri, Orange Squirrel, will be in attendance.

A seasonal light lunch will be served from a menu devised by two of NJ's finest restaurants—the Orange Squirrel and Osteria Giotto—with ingredients generously donated by Kings Food Markets as part of their Act Against Hunger initiative.

Montclair Salvation Army volunteers Caroline Clarke and Lisa Davies came up with this great idea  With winter just around the corner, decided it would be a good way to raise funds to replenish the food supplies that feed Montclair's hungry every week.
