So this is the drill. Get up early, be on the Parkway by 7:00, drive to Sea Girt. Stop at the Starbucks on 35. Get some coffee and breakfast, to go. Get to the beach while there are still spaces left by the boardwalk. Enjoy a blissful breakfast on the boardwalk and take in the the invigorating sea air. Then.....
Spend the entire day on the beach. It is the best form of meditation ever. Our favorite spot is near Brooklyn Ave, near the jette. Want more privacy, go further south. The beach is long. Swim, bask in the sun, breath the fresh air, enjoy the quiet. Get very hungry. Stay until 5:00 or 6:00 at least. The light is so gorgeous in the later afternoon. Rinse off a little with the showers on the boardwalk.
Pack up and drive north 7 miles on 71 to Asbury Park, there are many great restaurants there.
Stop off at Matt's Farm Stand along the way, if you have time.
On the eclectic Asbury Park boardwalk we chose Langosta Lounge. A favorite. It was spectacular as always.
Had Carton 077 IPA on tap, a exciting West Coast inspired IPA, went perfectly with our Pu Pu Platter which includes "A fun and kitschy assortment of coconut shrimp, baby back ribs, Asian veggies pot stickers, bar-b-que wings and skewered tropical fruit steak – served with chili lime sauce."
And the sweet and savory Picadillo Plantain a "sweet fried plantain topped with slow simmered beef, garlicky chorizo and epazote topped with cilantro crema"
And last but not least a mesmerizing Chu Chee Curry – Thailand , Red and green coconut curry with aromatic herbs and lemongrass with sauted garden vegetables over the grains.
Eat and drink. What a day!!!!
