Truth is, I am nursing a little hangover here, had a great dinner at Spuntino with my good buddy Greg last night. The wine was oh so good.
This classic and perfectly executed oatmeal raisin cookie and a stiff espresso is just what the doctor ordered and I am feeling chipper again.
I bought a couple of them at The Little Daisy Bake Shop, Jennifer Snyder's wonderful bakery in Upper Montclair.
She arrived in Montclair some years ago from Portland, Oregon and brought that wonderful Northwest sensibility.
I love her chocolatey creamily delicious Whoopie Pies, they are so good. Soon her ginger and pumpkin versions will be coming, we had them last year as part of our Thanksgiving dinner desserts. They will be back by popular demand this year.

Jenn is my Summit Avenue neighbor! You should see the incredible creations she has done for our block parties. I am a regular customer; all her baked goods are fabulous. And when our other Summit Avenue neighbor, Lou Palma, starts baking his bread for Sundays again, you do need to stop by and get some (but not before I've gotten mine!!) ..
