Up in the Catskills near Woodstock is the great Ashonka Reservoir which has a great walking or biking path. There are a lot of great biking routes in this region, you can find maps and information here. It is just under a 2 hour drive from Montclair. I like to bike along water and so we picked this route. After a vigorous ride we drove over to a favorite lunch spot, Sunfrost Farms. And then into Woodstock for a causal stroll.
They also have a store loaded with fresh from the farm fruits and vegetables and a wide selection of other delicious gourmet items.
And as you might imagine, being near Woodstock there is no shortage of interesting patrons.
Woodstock is very close and there are no shortage of dining and shopping options there.
It is amazing how this place is unchanged decade after decade.
The biking was great with surprises like this.
Off the main way is a path leading to this great monument for J. Waldo Smith, chief engineer of the Catskill water system.
And interesting sites and signs.
And beautiful views like this.
We got home in time for an afternoon moving and a nice diner out on the deck.
