Legendary, now that is not a word you often see in restaurant reviews, but it is appropriate, along with Authentic, Creative, Entertaining and any number of other emphatic adjectives that could be used to describe this Fantastic place. Oops there I go again.
A couple of weeks ago I got an invitation from a Scott Kleckner to come try Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. He calls himself VP of Operations, but I would say, CEO, Chief Exceptional Officer. But as you get to know Dinosaur it seems that everyone wears that hat.
Here is Scott showing off one of Dinosaur's signature appetizers, Sausage and Cheese on Crackers. You won't believe how good these are until you taste them.
Everything at Dinosaur is made from scratch. Even their sauces and desserts. Even the crackers in there Sausage and Cheese appetizer. The Dino team is completely Authentic in its approach to serving the finest and most Creative cuisine. We took a tour deep into the restaurant and proved this was true.
Simple dishes like these Deviled Eggs have a special twist that "Elevates" the dish and your dining experience.
A
fantastic Mac and Cheese and a rich flavorful Gumbo are on the menu. The chef is influenced by Southern United States and the entire Southern Hemisphere which is demonstrated in these fabulous Korean Bar-B-Qued Chicken wings.
I washed this all down with a nice IPA called Ape Hanger that Dinosaur has made for them by Middle Ages Brewing up in Syracuse which is home to the original Dinosaur.
Founded by John Stage his restaurants are "nationally acclaimed as some of the best in the country... have won honors for their food and sauces in publications such as Men’s Health and Eating Well magazines, won the Number 1 BBQ on Good Morning America and have been featured on various Food Network and Travel Channel shows." The Newark location is in a great old building which has been carefully preserved and restored and decorated with Entertaining whimsical art like this Flying Pigs" mobile.
The food kept coming and we tasted with ecstatic joy the creations of people that man the kitchen like this two characters who turn out what is probably going to be the best chicken and ribs you have ever tasted.
We could say a lot more but we will leave some room for our fellow bloggers who joined us on the fabulous experience. We will be back soon. Hope to see you there.
