If you have been reading our recent posts you'll know we are really digging the wines that are coming up for Chile this year. This weekend you can taste two red wines from the very noted vineyard Tres Palacios.
In beautiful Maipo Chile, Tres Palacios is a family-run company founded in 1996 by Chilean winemakers Patricio Palacios and his wife Maria Ines Covarrubias. This weekend you can taste their delcious Cabernet Sauvignon and try something new Carmenere which is becoming very popular. You will love the price of $12.99.
Tres Palacios Cabernet Sauvignon (Maipo, Chile) 2008
"The 2008 Cabernet has an intense red color with aromas of red fruits such as raspberry and wild strawberry, with delicate touches of pepper, cassis and hints of tobacco. The fruit first noted in the nose is felt again in the mouth, highlighting the red fruits and pepper. It is an elegant, and mellow wine but, at the same time, the presence of soft tannins prolongs the finish. This wine is easy to drink and ideal for accompanying red meats and casserole dishes." Tres Palacios Carmenere (Maipo, Chile) 2008
"The 2008 Tres Palacios Carmenere is a beautiful and delicate wine, aged in French oak barrels for ten months. Full-bodied and complex on the palate, it displays dark fruit notes such as plums and blueberries with scents of pepper, mint and leather. An excellent and well-balanced wine with a deeply saturated color." Winemaker
