We had another great diner and tried some great lagers and ales at Salt my favorite "gastro pub", in Stanhope, NJ where we celebrated Diana's birthday.
One of the brews that really stood out for me was an Ale called Brawler made by highly regarded and growing Yards Brewing Company of Philadelphia, PA.
We love Salt and the kids who joined us there for the first time loved it too. We got to try more dishes on their menu including the Bangers and Mash, Hanger Steak, Short Ribs and a special scallops dish. Wow what a dinner.
We also liked....
Another great place to taste beer is Flood's in Stroudsburg PA.
I am begining to discover that I like pale ales the best, previously I was a fan of medium lagers. The Brawler has a rich carmel flavor that goes down smooth and compliments food very well. The brwers say "Boasting superior taste and champion flavor, the Brawler is crafted in the style of English session ales. This malt-forward, ruby colored ale is great for when you want to go a few rounds."
I hope to be checking out the new George Street Ale House at their press opening tonight, weather permitting, that is opening in downtown New Brunswick NJ. I will post on that soon.
We are alos planning a trip to Yard's Tasting Room real soon and of course more lunch and dinnes at Salt.
