I was visiting a client in Red Hook yesterday and decide to find a place for lunch. I had heard about all the great restaurants, bars and food places that have been growing in Red Hook Brooklyn, The Red Hook Diet. We have been meaning to get over there for some time. Now with the new Fairway open and the new Ikea, Red Hook has become an even greater destination.
Came across this real gem that made me feel like I had suddenly been beamed up to Maine. The place is called the Red Hook Lobster Pound where I had the most delicious lobster roll and seafood chowder ever.
It is reported that RHLP tracks down the freshest, most delicious lobsters from a secret family of lobstermen in Maine. They bring them down to NY and work their magic. The roll is a top-split New England bun by J.J. Nissen that they toast on the griddle in butter. The roll soaks up the mayo and butter perfectly the result is a lobster roll that it practically impossible to find outside of New England.

You're making me hungry here - how about shipping some chowder out West! Thanks for the tip - will have to try next time I'm in the area.
Cheers,

Thanks so much for the great review. The Whoopie Pies were actually developed by me in collaboration with Margaret Palca of Margaret Palca Bakes, on Columbia Street, nearby. Please come back soon and we hope to see you in central park. BTW I have been bugging my cousin Andrew who lives in Montclair to open a satellite!
