T. Edward wines is a very reliable importer of fine wines.
I have enjoyed many of their wines from their very diverse, well selected portfolio.
This one, called Jelu, is a delicious Malbec from Argentina.
This wine is from the 2006 vintage. I've read reviews on the 2005 which were not that favorable. I think this vintage is a winner.
In the beautiful quiet province of San Juan, Argentina upon the unique terroir of the Zonda Valley is a vineyard called Santa Sylvia where this and other wonderful wines are produced.
Their Jelu Malbec, delivers intense dark cherry, black plum flaviors surrounded by a smoky bouquet that has an essence of vanilla. It has a deep purple-black in color and is well balanced with nice tanin a result of aging in French and American oak, for 9 months. It is organically grown.
The name Jelu is from the Huarpe Indian language and means sun. I think this wine is perfect for sunny summertime meals.
Found it at Home in Verona for $8.99.
