Toast, the cozy breakfast, lunch and brunch place that just opened in Montclair, is a gem.
Located near the Montclair Art Museum, on Bloomfield Avenue, across the street from Whole Foods it is a great addition to the neighborhood.
We will be back.

Some constructive criticism. The Cuban Sandwich with mustard on the side arrived without this essential condiment. I asked for mustard and the staff, who are attentive to a fault, quickly presented a plastic bottle of Gulden's Spicy Brown. As a mustard connoisseur I long for better. My father-in-law, Rudy Polack, manufactured mustard in New York City for decades. As a result I look for the very best. A gourmet mustard served in a small bowl would my choice.
My friend Cathy insisted I mention that the salad was delicious but would be better if the Romaine Lettuce was torn not cut and served in a bowl rather than a plate.
Overall I give Toast a big thumbs up.
