I recently had the opportunity to experience wines created at Carlo Massimiliano Gritti Winery, Umbria, IT, by Andrea Paoletti.

The occasion was a "Meetup" of the Northern NJ Wine Meet Up Group which I joined recently.

Wino Bob who organizes these fun events with Big Bob invited Dominic Carrea of DKR Imports who showcased these great wines by Paoletti.

Station Pub and Grub, Bernardsville - Restaurant Review

Met a friend in Bernardsville for dinner, she recommend Station Pub and Grub.

This is my kinda place, casual and friendly, good beer, wine and food.

Moderately priced, unless you go for the Rib Eye and a boutique wine by Gerry Rowland, Midnight Rambler, Cabernet Sauvignon as I did.  Oops, there goes the budget.

1000 Best Wine Secrets - Book Review

Carolyn Hammond's new book 1000 Best Wine Secrets is a very approachable, informative source of wine knowledge and experience for interested beginners and seasoned wine lovers.

Well above books like "Wine for Dummies", Wine Secrets immediately sets out to put you in control of your wine experience. It is an engaging  read spiced with sensual metaphors, revealing anecdotes, and thankfully a complete absence of "wine snobbery." This book is fun to read and will leave you with greater confidence to explore the vast world of wine.

Kings in Verona, the "Big Kings" in the Pilgrim Shopping Plaza is delivering an abundance of gourmet delicacies that should not be missed.

Exotic Meats, Fresh Fish, Great Breads and Pastries, Imported Cheeses, Interesting Fruits and Vegetables, and I can still buy my favorite toilet paper at half price.

Village Gourmet, Rutherford, NJ - Restaurant Review

Village Gourmet is a local institution in Rutherford, originally opened in 1990. It has been so popular that the few times I have tried to go there for lunch during the week the wait has been to long.

Was in Lyndhurst visiting Winepro on Saturday and decided to give the Village Gourmet another try.

At 11:45 we were the first to be seated, by the time we finished lunch the restaurant was filling up.
